The Year in Review - 2020 at vsource

There’s no doubt that 2020 was a year like no other. Global lockdowns, travel restrictions, and working from home saw many of us face some quite unexpected challenges. But we also learned that we humans have an incredible ability to adapt. No matter what life throws at us, we just keep going.

For us here at vsource, that meant continuing with our efforts to make the recruitment process as simple, straightforward, and ultimately rewarding as possible. These efforts saw us launch our regular webinar series as well as continuing to discuss the latest developments in the industry through our blog.

But it wasn’t just about the work for us. 2020 also saw us hit all of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) goals which was perhaps our most important achievement of all.

Here are the highlights of our year.

Our 2020 webinar series

2020 saw the launch of our new webinar series where we invite some of the most respected and talented minds in the industry to discuss the latest trends and developments in recruitment.

Our 2020 CSR initiatives

At vsource we take our corporate social responsibilities very seriously. As you may know, one of our busiest offices is located in Vietnam and so we’ve partnered with several organizations that help local communities and causes.

Here’s just a quick overview of some of the wonderful things our Vietnamese-based staff and our local partners have achieved in the last 12 months.

Vina Health - Rise from the floor initiative

9 energetic vsource staff members volunteered to help Vina Health distribute milk packages and raise 10 million VND.

Internal fundraising for Central Vietnam

We arranged a fundraiser to help raise awareness of the troubled communities in Central Vietnam. We raised 26 million VND and donated medical supplies and medicines to those in need.

An Giang computer installation

We worked together with Loreto Vietnam to purchase and install 10 computers for students attending school in disadvantaged areas. Our hope is that these computers will help some of those children become tomorrow’s brightest talent.

An Giang bike and helmet distribution

We also partnered with Loreto Vietnam to purchase and distribute over 80 bikes and helmets to children at three schools. Five vsource volunteers worked on this project helping to promote school attendance.

LIN — Narrow the Gap Grantee Visits

LIN Center for Community Development is a local non-governmental organization that helps facilitate grant allocation by corporate entities to local NPOs.

This year we were very pleased to welcome some of our very own grantees to the vsource offices where we discussed how their community projects were going. It was a great opportunity for us to see the hard work that these grantees have put in and learn what else we could do to help them achieve their goals.

Our LIN grantees for 2020 are:

    • Project ‘Bambusa Vulgaris’ — Herbal Medicine Group
    • Project ‘Find clean water for my villagers’ — Nguyen Viet Khai Commune Women’s Union
    • Project ‘WASH and Action Campaign Against Covid-19 for Khmer Schools’ — Centre for Rural Research and Development of An Giang University

As you can see we’ve been pretty busy here at vsource and that’s without even mentioning the continued development of our technology and sourcing processes.

Although 2020 may have been a tough year for some, we hope that like us you were able to take some positives from a year that will live long in the memory.

We’d also like to take this opportunity to wish all our clients, webinar attendees, and visitors to our blog a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from everyone at vsource. See you all in 2021.
